Company: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Job title: Senior Scientist
Chiara Ambrogio, PhD, is a senior scientist at DFCI specialized in molecular oncology and translational cancer research. After a doctorate degree in Immunology and Cellular Biology at the University of Torino, she moved to the CNIO Cancer Center in Madrid in 2009 to work on mechanisms regulating lung tumorigenesis in vivo. In 2016 she joined the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston where she focused on unraveling the tumor suppressor role of the wild-type KRAS allele in tumors harboring mutations in the KRAS gene. Her findings show a fine tuned relationship between oncogene allelic frequency and response to therapy, and point at the existence of a complex signalosome in the membrane that regulates the oncogenic properties of KRAS.
